ETHICS AND EDUCATION
Ethics is what is happening there between root and fruit. A lot of actions, causes of actions and principles unwritten. Each and every part or involved particles adhering to its duties and responsibilities to total perfection. From a tree the seed gets unattached itself for the benefit of universal subsistence of its own race as well as others all around.
Certain principles, mannerisms, etiquettes essential for minimum survival through careful surveillance are taught by mother. Remaining we learn from other. Very recently I met a retired Malayalam language teacher of reputation in a public function. In between talks I asked him about his students who have made a name of their own. He unleashed a list of doctors, engineers, scientists, politicians and proud was painted all over his face! I wanted to know whether he ever tried to inspire, make a writer. He tried to collect from memory, sadly shook head in negative. The old man looked at me blankly. The face was pale now. He understood that he bore hundreds of fleshy, juicy fruits in his tree of education but failed to develop a seed for next generation! Failed to spot potential student writers who could have made him prouder than the doctors and engineers he named. He practiced the ethics of subsistence, survival and co-existence but failed in promoting the ethics of successive saga. It is at that point of time that I decided to
visit schools to interact with language teachers to make sure that do not repent for not making a REAL SUCCESSOR after retirement. I visited more than seventy Govt. School in Kerala. The morality, essence of ethics were discussed in detail but only twenty two schools volunteered to help me in bringing in and introducing 407 New Poets to the world arena of literature in a world record unique one year continuous drive, a first-ever in history. Setting an example of our own is the best way to accomplish the desired goals of ethics may it be educational ethics, medical ethics, bio ethics, clinical ethics and all other ethics except, ofcourse, criminal ethics!
