BEAUTY OF ETHICS
One may mold oneself according
to new environs
but always know, where one
comes from.
That’s the bewitching nature of
subdued old memories
Old naive charades lay somewhere
In the corner, hide behind
the veil of ethics
One must always know
How deal with new ways
Wide grin of a facade
Cosy drape of ethics
As these quirks are not innate in nature
One must inculcate it by subtle practice
Can the effortless demeanour
Ever betray a distraught lack of cheerful intent
Even as each day streams/ New twilight veil of colours

Teaching on Ethics
Two neighbours
One young, one old
Share one large window
But different rooms
On the same attic of a hospital.
As younger opens up the first chapter of life
Older was pretty close to finish the last one.
One’s giggle blooms the prologue of fairy tale
Another ‘s yowl writes an eulogy of an epilogue.
On one side of the window little one savours the
Warmth of mother’s cosy lap
while father smitten the vista.
Another side the shrunken old eyes
Wet with the memories of departed ones.
No sign of life sparkles here
One was about to start a fresh segment on ethics
Another was shattered by his teaching on ethics
The only thing common in them
Is their irresistible impulse
to be surrounded by dear ones.
