MOTHER ETHICS

In the womb of creation, we’d like to favour goodness, love, humility rather than arrogance, generosity rather than greed, compassion rather than thoughtless actions complimenting the vision of the architect of humankind. We carry forth the responsibility in great discourse to enhance minds with the knowledge of both good and evil. In Adam and Eve, we learned that when that knowledge became part of them, they covered themselves losing the purity of innocence and have grown leaves of shame. I believe it to be the duality of both sides of the coin so to speak, that opened too many doors, doors that lead to what is wrong keeping in mind the words and the will of our creator. Now, there were too many doors and it seemed over the ages the “good” doors were opened less than before. It is in our very nature to be tempted by dark thoughts with this knowledge. Only through wisdom and love may the light extinguish the darkness.
Life starts with mom; the love of a mother is the strongest love with a bond that remains unbroken. A bond that remains an eternal promise, shaping the world child by child. A mother is the symbol of beauty, strength, compassion, empathy, knowledge, and wisdom. Amidst these petals, hearts can be touched and come together in an arrangement by the florist of happiness. A mother knows how to place each flower of her heart, just so, and spreading forth throughout the world. Furthermore, a mother’s love with the innocence of a child is the breeding ground for justice, peace, equality and ultimately happiness.

As a child, I can still remember the love felt in her sweet embrace, the knowing in her grimace, the ethics in her knowing eyes. She became the gate of guidance, the healer of reason, the light in my heart. She knew just what to do when I was mischievous, just what to say and how to say it, in hopes I would listen, and I did. Why? Because of the love shown in the facets of a healthy lifestyle. The comfort of goodness becoming a seed to grow the tree to become the stability in my life. Through childhood, I was armed with the tools of the growing soul, in the power of knowledge, brightened by light, it is only through our choices that we let in the darkness.

In today’s world we face many challenges as we have in the past, but it is different. It seems we are on the brink of a major shift in the balance. It may be due to several things, technology, over-protection, crime, and the intersection of laws that were firstly made with the best intentions. We have seemed to forget how to see the world through a mother’s eye, not only for us humans, but the animals, plants, trees etc. and in each division of life there has been leaders performing their matriarchal duties. Subconsciously, we keep part of our mothers with us as we go through life, but not all know how to keep mother ethics as part of our decision-making process.

There are so many countries struggling and suffering, would we let our children suffer? Remember, we have been equipped with all the tools to harvest a humble and fruitful world where good is right and bad is wrong. The reigns have been guided by history, leaving our world in a mixed state. We must strive through all strife to do all the good we can. It is our duty that will and can be fulfilled through the eyes of a mother. A mother can do anything she puts her mind to, because she is fueled by the most powerful love in the world.

Let’s take this a step further, we need to think practically. We can’t make a law to safeguard against everything that can go wrong. There is a fine line that we shouldn’t have crossed, that is accidents will happen, it is part of life. Our world is being formed in a “we can’t let that happen again” attitude. Which we would think this behaviour promotes ethics, would it be healthy for a mother to try and protect their children from every pitfall? No, it wouldn’t and how would this child learn? They wouldn’t, they would just see a pattern of procedural instructions and formulate based on an irregular and unorthodox manners. This will in turn promote inequality, discrimination, segregation and so forth in society and hinder all of humankind.

Equality is the root against discrimination and segregation. The world has slowly forgotten to use common sense as a basis for the infrastructure that promotes proper values and principles in our everyday world. It is like the natural laws of man has been interweaved with unnecessary ideas and immoral practices that has created a blanket of chaos, smothering the lands and creating breeding grounds of hysteria with no properly governed order. Simplicity is sometimes the best approach, let us analyse this.

Traditional practices have been transformed into a whirlwind, swirling values and principles into a mess that has left the common man, thirsting, starving for a misconstrued freedom. Spirituality has come to an all time low, while technology segregates people of the masses, individualizing daily activities, performing way too many functions for us all. We are becoming, in a sense robotic, as most people can’t even remember a phone number without their phone, or even function at all without it. Should a mother let their child play video games all day?

As we slowly have been straying from the tracks, it has had an impact on too many people today, and it makes perfect sense. We are in a downward spiral, as parents today were of course young children just twenty years ago and due to the wound-up mess of the basics of ethics, it has been a chain reaction that has corrupted from generation to generation slowly over time. When there are children that are left alone to get ready for school because their parents don’t get up with them in the morning, this alone is a perfect example. It has just changed how adults behave and this has been a deadly cycle that has now led our world into chaotic infrastructure where it is taking away too much of life’s happiness that was intended by the architect of humankind, God. In the beginning, yes, the beginning. How much simpler was it? A lot simpler, but also a lot harsher for the average person. Yet, there was a strong foundation of right and wrong in the world, that would maintain healthy activities and interaction between each other and in turn would foster an appreciation for beauty and the simpler things in life.

We have noticed there are many instances in the bible where the pharisees loved to create laws. One example is about the Sabbath. They thought they were doing good, by trying to be concise in keeping the Sabbath holy, but what did they forget? The point I’m trying to make is we need to realize nothing is perfect, life has imperfections, it is how the world was intended to be. If we continue to fight against the very nature of the universe, we truly are not learning how to properly co-exist in the world. These imperfections help keep us grounded and level and promote an overall contentment in the world. For example, how hot is it when you come out from the cold, or how much would we appreciate nature if we have been locked away for a few weeks? We seem to have become fascinated and desperate for instant gratification and have lost our patience altogether. Patience is a virtue, they say, and they say it for a reason of course. So, if you can’t get though the wait in a waiting room at the hospital, or if we can’t wait on our commute home, both can cause harm, and it will be our children that are the witnesses. They are fresh from the womb of creation and like a sponge they take everything in, and this is where it can and has gone horribly wrong.

Our children can sow change for the future, they are the seeds of the world and we need to let new trees grow for the new generations to come and harvest the fruit of love, peace, and happiness. For this to be possible, the mother within us all must emerge with sensibility, logic, and practicality, but we need to make a few changes in the world so that this can be possible. We need to integrate ethics into the education system as one of the core subjects.
Let us all be the mothers of our children feeding them with goodness and simplicity, nourishing their minds and souls with patience, good values, and proper principles. Let us surround our seeds with cleaner water, healthier minerals, and vitamins just as a mother would.

In conclusion, guided within motherly arms surrounding the world will create the love needed so we can all be the closest we will ever get to the purest happiness in the world.
