THE DEATH’OF EMOTION AND THE RISE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

HELA JENAYAH TEKALI, WORLD AMBASSADOR, IAE

1. Natural Emotion Versus Artificial Intelligence:

Emotion is a very pure feeling that is devoid of hatred , enmity , rivalry , and contempt.
When we speak about emotion . It comes to our mind catharsis which is one of the noblest traits of Greek theatre , which is in other terms the purgation of feelings on stage , and when devoid of it there will be no tragedy , nor a denouement, nor a state of relief to the tragic hero or heroine.
When the issue about emotion is raised in the 21 rst century , we see that hearts are hardened with the advance of Artificial Technology .We speak about Emotional Intelligence and power of intuition. But how can a simple robot or a machine outwit man , and his divine gift.
Robots i.e Artificial creatures are faster and more effective than man in accomplishing strenuous tasks saving time and making more profits for managers and chief directors of big companies , and owners of giant corporations .

2. The Threat Of A.I

But the question is where Artificial Intelligence leading man ?
Because of machines , portable computers , mobile phones human beings are becoming more obsolete than these devices themselves .
Tension , stress , anxiety, nervousness violence , are some of the negative impacts of this ever growing technological society. Diseases like autism, introversion, psychic disorder, isolation , solitude may be some of the psychological and psychic implication behind this prevalent dementia.
Poetry as the best therapy to this age of AI and as William wordsworth aptly defines it as follows :
” Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of passion recollected in tranquility. “
Poetry remains first and foremost this genuine , authentic , crystal clear , natural emotion that contravenes with the artificial intelligence. The poet is a genius and his raw material is his spirit .He creates out of the sun-consciousness an artistic piece once refined with his mind boggling creativity it turns into a mosaic of overflowing passion that can inspire humanity , and lead to the prosperity of its intellectual thoughts .

3. The Future Of Emotion

What we mostly fear today is the extinction of emotion.
Everyone seems so absorbed in his or her technological gadget and , the cutting edge models ,and the last and new electronic systems provided everyday .
But when it comes to social contact ,and interaction everything is doomed to oblivion.
Emotion is this simplest contact with your child , classmate, friend , colleague , neighbor , or anyone you meet in the street , or come in touch with .
It can be a simple smile , a kind word , a kiss , a caress a simple gesture , a good manner , or granting a helping hand .But what if all will be exercised by an electronic machine ,or a robot.
Can this machine replace the beauty of emotion?

Emotion can be a poem , a short story, or a fable written by the emotional intelligence of an author , but not the Artificial Intelligence exercised by an electronic device .
Emotion is this heart that feels , shares , and transmits its authentic thoughts to the audience on a stage and leads thereby to a catharsis i.e a purgation of feelings .
Can the Artificial Intelligence generate the outpourings of tears which are the best message of the divine .As long as their flood falls can the heart receive their sign?
All those questions which are highly akin to humanistic aspects , and ingrained within man’s intellectual and moral thoughts , like seeds from a tree, how can they blossom, and reap fertile and fresh fruit in the absence of emotion?
We fear for the welfare of humanity leading to the hegemony of science , the widespread of giant corporations giving dominance and prevalence to technological advances and undermining the basic and rooted virtues within man which is his spirituality . The best term to define the hypersensitive emotion, and the emotional intelligence that is innately inherent in man.
And as I said :
” I lose myself in the flood of my tears, and find it back in the ashes of my poetry.”
